Christmas Vacation Update

Hi All. We hope everyone's Christmas Break was fantastic. Here are some pictures and movies of Evey over her Christmas break. Well, the Santa Picture was technically taken in November, but it was Christmasy so I included it :D.

The picture of Mommy and Evey next to the tree was taken on Christmas Day. The picture of her testing out her new potty and the first movie were also from Christmas Day. And so is the picture of Daddy and Evey, where she is in her Radio Flyer Wagon. The picture of Evey and Mommy outside was the day after Christmas, where she's trying out her new outdoor shoes. :D

During the break Gretchen, Steve and little Owen came for a visit. There is a picture of us at the Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid getting a snack on New Years Eve. There is also a picture of Evey checking out a turtle and some seals. She really liked the Aquarium. She would talk to the fishies a lot. I'm not sure what she was saying but she was having a great time just sitting in front of the large fish tank watching all the different sea creatures go by. There is alslo a picture of us in front of the large Christmas tree that was at Moody Gardens. There is also a picture of Evey and Owen getting ready to go for a ride in the Radio Flyer, fun all around. :D

Then there are just a few photos of Evey early Jan (11 months old now) and of her petting Sampson. There is a video of her, from today. She was sort of steping between Daddy and Mommy. Mostly just falling from one of us to the other, but occasionally she'd take one step before falling forward. She's getting real close to walking, she'll probably do it when our backs are turned. ;)

Halloween and Working on Walking

Hi All,
Evey went trick or treating on our street this year. I've uploaded a picture of what she wore, a kitty shirt and skull and cross bones pants. We couldn't get a real costume this year, due to them all being made of polyester, but she's really cute anyway ;)
Grandma Tanya came for a two week visit, which included Halloween. So Grandma helped Evey eat her candy :) Grandma Tanya also helped a LOT with the house work, which helped Mommy and Daddy enormously, THANKS GRANDMA TANYA !!!
Evey can now stand up quite well if there is something in front of her to pull up on, like her play table, the couch or her baby fence. She can walk along the side of the couch and circle her play table very well also. She sometimes lets go of what she is holding on to for a short while before needing to hold on again. She helps mommy fold clothes, by taking clothes out of the basket. If she sees one of her shirts she'll put in on her head and pull with both hands. Sorry I don't have a video of that, its really cute. I think she's trying to put her own clothes on. She is still quite far from achieving that, but her thinking about it is still really cute.
The first picture is of Evey after having one of her Yo-Baby Yogurts. There is a picture of her with her play table and new puzzle mat, so she doesn't hurt her head when she falls down. There are some pictures of Evey and Grandma Tanya at Kemah. There is a picture of her with her 'All I want for Christmas is my Auntie' shirt from Aunty Kelly. Then there are some pictures of her in her Halloween outfit and her little pumpkin and her candy pal pumpkin. There is a video of her hearing her Halloween card from Aunty Heather and Uncle Tony. And a video of her going up 3 stairs. She can go up the whole flight of stairs now. The third video is of her eating Cheerios this morning. She eats that at school for breakfast also. She's such a big girl. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving !!!

We're Standing

Hi All,
Its been a about a month and its time for another blog update ;) Evey will be 9 months old soon, Nov 1. She's crawling like a champ now, very quickly and as many places as she can get to before we can catch her. She can stand up if there is something in front of her to climb up, like a tall toy, the couch or a baby gate. I've put up some pictures and quite a few movies. There is a picture of her with her Daddy and one of her and her Mommy (in the park). There is also a picture of her with her pumpkin, from this week. And there is a picture of her in her Gator outfit and a little hair tie, getting ready to watch the Gator game today. The gator game is still going on, but Evey had to go to bed at half time. I'll let her know how the game went in the morning. There is a movie of her drinking with a cup, very amusing. There is a movie of her standing and playing with her new toy table. There is a movie of her feeding her self a banana cookie. We've been working on having her eat solid foods that aren't baby jar foods. She'll eat ground up meat, like from inside a tamale or steamed dumpling. She'll eat yogurt and some Gerber puffs too, which are just a type of baby treat.
There is also a video of her saying 'Da Da'. She does say 'Da Da' and 'Ma Ma' a lot and she knows who is who. In the mornings John usually picks her up and changes her, so when she wakes up in the morning we can usually hear her calling 'Da Da' into the monitor. And when she's fussy and wants to eat or nap she'll usually make a sad face and say 'Ma Ma'.
We met with her teacher at school today and she said that Evey was very smart and can catch on to what she's trying to teach her very quickly. Her teacher is very nice and has a Masters in Education, and after her kids went off to college she decided she really wanted babies in her life so she started teaching at day care, which she has done for 13 years now.

For Halloween we were planning on walking Evey around our street to see the neighbors. We didn't get a costume, they were all ployester, but we got her a little Halloween Outfit to wear. So, to wrap it up, she's doing great with her crawling, is standing up pretty well and is doing great at school.
